A sound that morphs the 80s bad girl icon Joan Jett with the
90s heavy rock-n-roll flavor of L7, 10" Maria's "All
Girl All The Time" will resurrect those juvenile delinquent
behaviors you thought you tucked away in the closet long ago.
The first track, Two Wheels are Better than Four - a potential
anthem for women motorcycle riders - sets the tone for the album,
but its Drain and Mother that best demonstrates the band's talent
with its driving guitar, deep drum and bass lines, growling
vocals and shocking lyrics. And just when you're convinced these
women offer only a hard-as-nails exterior, Just Jane, peels
it right away exposing a deeper (softer?) look inside. So when
searching for a new soundtrack to fuel the hidden angst in your
life -- forget the mainstream, watered-down variety -- 10"
Maria is 100% lethal. Bottoms up!
